What's happening at the Harvest?
CHANGES AHEAD, WE HAVE MOVED: NEW PLACE, NEW TIME, NEW CITY!
Christianity Today Pam Marmon shared in her article, “Change is the silent killer in the church, a pastor friend once said to me. I’ve spent years consulting organizations on managing change and teaching on the subject, so I’m painfully aware that change can be hard. Restructuring small groups, starting new building projects, energizing volunteer efforts, motivating discipleship, updating governance structure—change is inevitable at every level of a church. Isaiah 43:19 tells us that our Creator is always doing new things, therefore how we do the work of the church, too, depends on change. But why does change in the church disrupt the work of the church? Fixated on this question, I spent a great deal of time researching and interviewing pastors about the challenges their churches face and the problems that prevent them from growing. Some see hope when facing change. Others feel overwhelmed by the list of tasks required to serve their attendees, elders, staff, and volunteers. Managing change effectively can provide time and resources to focus on the spiritual growth of your congregation and their response to the Great Commission."
It was announced in January 2017 and other times throughout the year of 2017 to CHM that First Lady and I felt led by God there was a big transition change to occur in our ministry. This sort of change is not always easy because of relationship tides but it happens. It happened to the TD Jakes when God led him from West Virginia to Texas, it happened to John Maxwell when God led him from Florida to Atlanta, it happened to the late Bishop Eddie Long when God led him from Cedartown to Atlanta. Like Abraham, Joann and I are called to leave everything and follow God to a place we have never been. The great thing about God is, not only He has Joann and me in mind, but He has the congregants in mind. Jeremiah 29:11 confirms through God thoughts for us He has an expected end for us all.
Once we have settled into our new endeavor, we will be sending a grand announcement of our new place and new scheduled service times by email, letter, and website. Let's rejoice for what God is going to do in each of our lives!!
Website links will return to service once CHM is settled in its new place.
